Day in the life of an Assistant Collector #2

Morning brief while at PO office and then went to Panchayat samiti Kinwat for PS election reservation activity. The SDM was made the controlling Officer for such reservation of seats category wise. It’s a detailed technical and procedural activity. It went smoothly and I was also involved whole while actively making my own notes.

Then had a meeting with Tah Kinwat and circle officers regarding upcoming Revenue day celebrations on August 1st in Sahastrakund. This time Kinwat will be the host for the Revenue day celebrations. I had made a rough hand written plan for the event and handed it over to the Tahsildar.

Then after lunch went to Mahur for the Panchayat Samiti reservation activity.

After that inspected office records of the Tahsil office team. Case registers and Work sheet registers were not maintained uptodate. Shocked that correspondence of more than two years was pending to be disposed. Took the staff, NT and Tah to task for being so complacent. The staff had maintained the Work sheet registers but not the Case Registers.

Then after that went to Mahur Ashram school for surprise visit and inspection. The children were so lively and sporty. They were able to answers the questions posed. Students were able to say the tables. The scene from the Ashramschool overlooking the green hills and ghats was fantastic. The kitchen and hostels were maintained well.

Then on the way to Kinwat, inspected another Government Ashramschool in Tulshi village. It was already dark and the students who had already finished dinner and play were gathering for the prayer. Instructed few things to the HM.

Also through out the day much of the work gets done through phone also. Told HM of one Government Ashramschool to conduct one awareness drive in villages about Har Ghar Tiranga activity with the help of girl students over phone.
